Reviews: Terry Pratchett

Equal Rites.
Many other humorous fantasy / science fiction novels.

Pratchett is a male author who generally writes humorous fantasy and does not deal with feminist issues. He did write one novel, Equal Rites, also a humorous novel, in which a little girl is granted sorcerous powers and has to fight to have them recognized and trained. This novel can be seen as a humorous counterpoint to the traditional male-dominated wizard's society depicted in Le Guin's EarthSea novels, among others. (Of course, Le Guin herself wrote a counterpoint to her original trilogy in Tehanu.)
